Zito cake (rolls or balls)
Cake with ground wheat and beer, a lean cake full of flavor, and most of all vitamin "B" :-) juicy, soft, interesting, with not many ingredients!
Preparation steps
- Mix flour, sugar, honey and baking soda with 2.5 dcl of beer. The mass will be a little thinner and yet thick enough to flatten it with a spatula in a baking tray previously lined with baking paper.
- Bake the crust in a preheated oven for about 20 minutes, no longer, then remove the pan and allow the crust to cool. Cut the cold crust into four equal strips.
- CREAM
- Leave the washed grain in a bowl of hot water overnight. The next day change the water and put on the stove to cook. Drain the cooked grain, grind in a meat grinder, or with a mincer. Maybe a stick mixer would help, I haven't tried it.
- Put the sugar in a saucepan, pour 2 dcl of water over it and cook until it melts. Add ground grain, continue cooking briefly, stirring. Finally add the ground walnuts, nutmeg and vanilla.
- The crusts are coated with hot filling !!! Coat the outside of the cake with the same filling and cover with ground walnuts.
