Preparation steps

  • Melt the chocolate and butter, add the cocoa and mix well to melt the cocoa. Beat eggs with sugar (just to froth well, but you don't have to stir as long as for a biscuit) and add melted chocolate and jam to it. Mix briefly and add flour, carob and baking soda. Stir briefly to obtain a thick mass. If the mixture is too thick, a little milk can be added.
  • Bake the mixture in a greased mold with a diameter of 18-20 cm for about 30-40 minutes at 180C degrees. The cake is very dark, so be careful not to burn it without noticing it. During baking, you can put paper on top so that the surface does not overcook. Check with a toothpick or knife whether the cake is baked after 30 min (depending on the oven). The toothpick doesn’t have to be completely dry when you take it out, I prefer to keep my cake more moist.
  • The baked and cooled cake should be wrapped and left to stand for at least one day to develop its aroma and true texture. The more days it stays, the better, but of course it doesn't last more than 3 days with us.
