Vegan sarma

Sarma in a meatless version!

Preparation steps

  • VIDEO RECIPE AND PROCEDURE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KOel3Wyyc4
  • VEGAN SARM Ingredients: Carrots, onions, garlic, rice, smoked seitan, soy flakes, oil, spices (salt, pepper, red pepper), sauerkraut. Procedure: Fry onions in oil, then garlic, then carrots. Add water until everything softens. Add the rice (which we previously soaked) and cook everything together until it softens. Boil the soy flakes in salted water, drain and sauté in a mixture of onions, garlic, carrots and rice. Add spices to the mixture: salt, pepper, red pepper and mix everything together. After everything softens and boils, leave to cool. When cool, fill the cabbage leaves with the mixture. They must be tightly squeezed so that the sarma does not fall apart. We place them next to each other in a bowl (again firmly and charged so that it does not fall apart). For a richer taste, we can add pieces of smoked seitan between the sarma. Pour tomato juice and water over everything, add a bay leaf and cook for about 1 - 1.5 hours.
