Urma cubes

I have a recipe for 30 years and I am glad to share it with you.

Preparation steps

  • In a medium-sized pot, place the dates, sugar, water and lemon juice to cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the dates soften and the mixture becomes creamy.
  • Remove the filling from the heat and allow to cool while you prepare the dough.
  • Put oatmeal, baking soda, flour, sugar and margarine in the wangle and make a crumbly mixture with your fingers.
  • Divide the resulting mixture into 2 equal parts. Press one part on the bottom of the tray (20cm x 30cm). Put the filling and crumble the other part over the filling.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 170c for about 40-45 minutes depending on the oven. When it gets a brownish color, it’s over.
