Torrias
Great thing when you don't know what to do with old bread… In Serbia we always made salty toasts, and here in Spain I learned to prepare a recipe that I really like, with cinnamon.
Preparation steps
- In a liter of milk, put one bag of cinnamon and sugar as desired. Whisk the eggs in another bowl, and cut the bread into slices. First we roll the bread in milk with cinnamon, and then in eggs, and put it in hot oil to fry.
- In another bowl, put powdered sugar with another bag of cinnamon, and roll it in at the end of the finished toast. This is an original recipe for preparing torrias, but I prefer how the mother prepared it from my husband. In the end, she puts all those fritters in the original milk with cinnamon, as it remains, so that the fritters absorb everything and cool down well. They are so much better for me and they are not dry…
