Tirit for baklava
I got this recipe from an old mint from Sarajevo 20 and a half years ago. who was an excellent cook, her baklava was beautiful, delicious, probably because of this tirita.
Preparation steps
- Sift the flour into a baking pan, then grate the cold butter over the flour. Rub nicely with your palms until the butter is dipped in the flour. Mix the eggs in one bowl and slowly sprinkle with that flour, then rub again with your palms so that there are no large lumps. Finally, rub everything nicely, break the lumps and put in a preheated oven at 200 degrees until it gets a golden-yellow color. Stir occasionally with a wooden spoon. in which case large lumps remain, you can grind them with a walnut grinder. This tirit is combined with ground walnuts, mixed well and sprinkled with baklava. It can be used for all these types of cakes….

While tirit is baked in the oven, the whole house smells so nice and probably because it bakes gives a wonderful taste of baklava… I am giving you this recipe and many housewives do not want to reveal this secret…
