Tangerine jam
Take advantage of the mandarin season, find homemade unsprayed mandarins and prepare this delicious marmalade that uses whole mandarins with peel.
Preparation steps
- Wash the tangerines. Take a large pot, fill it with water and when the water boils add the mandarins. Mandarins cook for 30 minutes on low heat.
- Drain them and place on a kitchen towel to cool. Chilled slice and remove seeds, if any.
- Using a stick mixer, chop the tangerines with the peel, put them in a pot, add sugar, vanilla pods and lemon juice. Cook the jam for 40-50 minutes, stirring occasionally. After the first 40 minutes, further chop the jam to make it more homogeneous.
- Meanwhile, place the jars in a cold oven, turn on at 110 ° C and heat all together for about 20 minutes. Fill the hot jam into hot jars, close well, turn them upside down and leave in this position for at least 10 minutes or until completely cooled.
