Sweet labneh in honey sauce
I recently found a recipe for “labneh” cheese on this site and was delighted with the ease of preparation and creamy fineness of flavor…. Wandering around the net I also found a sweet version of this wonderful creamy refreshment… and here it is now
Preparation steps
- Mix powdered sugar, yogurt and cinnamon and put everything nicely in gauze or a suitable cloth. Tie in a knot and leave to drain for 24 hours in the refrigerator, squeezing lightly every now and then and removing the extra liquid from the yogurt.
- When the cheese is drained cut it into 4 parts.
- Put honey, sugar, a piece of cinnamon, cloves and water in a bowl over a low heat. Stir gently until the sugar melts, reduce to a very low heat and cook for a few more minutes without stirring.
- Cool slightly, add rosewater and strain through a sieve. Wait for it to cool and pour over the cheese and fruit.
- Sprinkle with hazelnuts and serve.
Serving
This is so nice and fragrant to me… a little different dessert… My sauce turned out a little thicker than it should have… .I forgot to add water that was supposed to be boiled with honey…
