Sultan corba (Sultan corbasi)

Another dish from Turkish cuisine: Corba with chicken and almonds. The Sultan, it seems, knew exactly what was right ... :)

Preparation steps

  • Boil chicken breasts in 3 tablespoons of water, and cut into cubes.
  • Melt the butter in a sieve and add 3 tablespoons of flour. Stir over low heat for 2-3 minutes until the flour is slightly browned (be careful not to burn it)
  • Add salt of lukewarm milk and mix for 1 minute (it is best to mix with an egg beater), add 2 salts of hot chicken water. Stir until boiling.
  • Add chopped chicken and almonds. Add salt and pepper.
  • put one egg yolk in a small bowl and add 1/4 salt of lemon juice (maybe less, I put a few drops because I don't like it to be a lot of sour corba). Mix the two and slowly pour into the corba.
  • Cook for another 4-5 minutes on low heat and serve while warm.
