Snails with chard, bacon and cheese
I recently saw the recipe on TV in a show and made it without exact measurements because I didn't write them down, but now I have my own measure for these snails, so I'm sharing the recipe with you (maybe it's similar, I didn't check it). ;)
Preparation steps
- Wash the chard and blanch it briefly (about 2-3 minutes) in salted boiling water, then cool and drain and cut (not very finely).
- Make a mixture of cheese and chard (add salt to taste, depending on how salty the bacon is).
- Roll out the puff pastry thinly and arrange slices of bacon on it, then spread the mixture of chard and cheese and fold the dough as for a strudel.
- Thus folded dough cut into rolls 2 cm wide and arrange them lying on a baking sheet on which we put baking paper.
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes at 180 degrees until golden brown.
- If you want a few minutes before the end of baking, you can put a little grated Trappist on top of each snail and leave it in the oven for a few more minutes to melt the cheese (I tried both variants and they are just as good).
Serving
The snails will serve hot or cold. To me personally they are better lukewarm. :)
