Shley petate or potatoes in sauce

Kurdish recipes continue :-) One very simple and delicious dish.

Preparation steps

  • Cut the meat into smaller cubes, fry in a little oil, add a little salt, and cook until the water disappears from the meat. When the water disappears from the meat, add the diced onion and simmer for ten minutes. Then add the tomato puree and pepper, stir and fry for a few minutes with meat and onions (frying tomato puree gives the dish a special taste) .Then add hot water and let it boil.
  • When it starts to cook, add the potatoes that you first cut lengthwise into 4 parts and then each part and another 3-4 parts depending on the size of the potatoes.
  • Mix everything and cook on low heat, stirring occasionally, taking care not to mash the potatoes for 30 minutes.

Serving

It is best served with rice and some salad.
