Preparation steps

  • Preheat the oven to 200. Sift the flour with the baking powder into a suitable bowl. Add sugar and vanilla sugar, then crumble the fat into the flour with your fingers. Once you have a uniform lump of dough, add the egg yolks and crush them in the same way with your fingers. The dough will still remain in the crumbs. Save one to two handfuls of these crumbs, and arrange the remaining amount in a greased baking pan. Press the dough well against the bottom of the mold, especially its edges, then coat it with heated jam.
  • Beat the egg whites until stiff. Gradually add the sugar and stir for a long time until all the sugar has melted. Mix vanilla sugar and grated walnuts and spread this filling on the prepared cake base. Sprinkle the preserved crumbs of dough on top of everything. Bake the cake for 20 minutes, then take it out, cool a bit and cut it into cubes.
