Shabby chic
Ordinary wooden board ..made in this technique: schabby chic .., so you can make old wooden chairs, (glass, etc.) antique cabinets, table and chairs… wooden trays, jars from winter..print photos in a wooden frame or plywood a great gift and what you find convenient…
Preparation steps
- We paint the object with dark acrylic paint or if the object is dark we leave the object unpainted. The base must be dark (here it is a food cutting board).
- When the board dries, pass the candle (paraffin), ie scratch the edges of the board or jar and all the places from which we want to scrape the paint. see picture above
- Apply a layer of light acrylic paint and let it dry again.
- When it dries well with sandpaper, we transfer the paint, thus removing the layer of light paint that is applied over the paraffin-grease, usually the edges and in the middle where we want to see the darker part of the paint because this process creates a pattern of worn object.
- We can finish the process in this way as a picture of a red rose on a board see the picture and this is the back of the other side of the same sunflower board and you can paint only one side at your discretion or desire or
- we choose a motif from a napkin, cut it out (I pluck it and separate it more easily and then lightly cut and separate those two white layers with scissors), ie I use the top layer, the thinnest printed part of the napkin or decoupage paper, see the picture where sunflowers # Apply a layer of varnish and glue (art potch mat) for napkins, put it on a napkin and coat it again with a layer of varnish and glue for napkins. , glue it and coat it again with varnish and glue. Let it dry.
- When dry, apply Phase 1 crackle sotile step 1 lightly spread from left to right and do not return to the same place. let it dry if you are in a hurry blow dry with a hair dryer. Phase 2 apply a thicker layer because then you get bigger cracks and a thinner layer smaller cracks.
- When it is dry, cracks appear in which we rub the oil paint patinaöl
- If, for example, we want to paint the edges and we don't have to smear the antique with a darker oil paint, so we get an even better old-fashioned touch. A two-component varnish can be applied however I used for the gentle cracks of the Crackle Sotile (step1 and step2) see the board image above.
- Print photos on wood, frame on wooden plywood..so I made birthday gifts snowgirl see pictures under step 17 from her children and here in step 29 we make normal decoupage and on the base we soak wood fix and smear and lay on the wooden base of the frame or plywood lightly printed photo and gently straighten with your fingers or straighten with a spatula-spatula we can also use a sponge ... leave overnight and dry ...
