Sencha biscuits
These biscuits were originally prepared with matcha tea, but as it is very expensive I tried the variant with cheaper sencho and I can say that they are excellent.
Preparation steps
- Mix the margarine and sugar until it becomes a creamy foam. Add whole eggs and vanilla and mix well.
- Slowly add the dry ingredients to it (flour, baking powder, tea powder, baking soda, salt) and continue to mix. Depending on how strong the taste of green tea you like you can put 2, 3 or more tablespoons of tea powder in the dough. Mix well to form a soft dough, if necessary finish with your hands on a lightly floured surface. Keep refrigerated for half an hour.
- Roll out and cut with cookie cutter shapes as desired. Bake for 10 minutes at 200 degrees C (you will see when they get a golden color)
Serving
Of course, cookies will go best with sencha or matcha tea.
