Sekeli stew with bread dumplings
Another old-fashioned dish that has been tested and recommended by many generations of gourmets.

Preparation steps
- Fry the onion cut into ribs in the fat. add red peppers, diced pork, salt and pepper. Simmer slowly until the meat is almost soft. Add sauerkraut and with frequent soaking with very little hot water, simmer until everything softens. Finally, add sour cream and cook for another ten minutes.
- Bread dumplings: Fry the bread cubes in fat to get color and become crispy. Transfer the bread to a mixing bowl and let it cool a bit, then add as much beaten egg and flour as it requires to combine everything into a thick, sticky mass. Let the mixture rest for at least 15 minutes (this step is necessary because the flour needs time to swell). Boil a little salted water, form bread balls with wet hands and put in boiling water. The water must not boil too much, so that the dumplings do not fall apart. The dumplings are ready quickly, as soon as they surface. Take them out with a hollow and put them in a bowl where we will serve them.
