Scorpions

Scorpio is a dry bread with different flavors and which can replace biscuits with tea or coffee. They have a fine, crispy crust = scorpion and can stand for a long time. Now that you have made a lot of fine jams and marmalades, make scorpions and taste

Preparation steps

  • ) Crumble the yeast in a dough bowl, melt the maclac in a bowl on the stove and add the milk, keep it warm, not hot
  • ) Pour over the yeast and let it rise
  • ) Add sugar, cardamom (vanilla s.) And grated orange peel. Slowly add the flour and knead until the dough is smooth
  • ) Let it rest for 30 min
  • ) The resulting dough and shake on a floured surface, lightly knead and make 3 long "stangle" in the length of the baking tray, place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Let it rest for about 20 minutes. the dough at that time preheat the oven to 225`C
  • ) Bake the dough for 15-20 min
  • ) Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly
  • ) Cut with a bread knife along the cutting then into sticks 2 cm thick cut into sticks
  • ) Lay them on a baking sheet and now increase the temp a bit. in the oven, put the baking sheet in the oven and let the scorpions bake a little and get the color and crust = scorpion. Be careful not to burn them, let them in the oven for only 3-4 minutes. Continue with the next tray, I was at 3
  • ) when all the scorpions have got the color and crust, turn off the oven and put the tins back in the warm oven and open the door a bit - now let the scorpions just dry in the warm air. scorpions are dried for at least 1 hour, preferably longer
  • ) Such baked and dry scorpions can stand for a long time, up to several months. Store them in tin boxes with lids or in glass jars that can be tightly closed.
