Salvation cake
Probably created by improvisation, it was named accidentally, intentionally, after a nice man who invented it and regularly made it for his family :) A very aromatic cake, the smell is reminiscent of the age of lace, hats and linen women's umbrellas. In the flood of "modern" desserts, this is a refreshment from the cake - a real old-fashioned delicious cake :)
Preparation steps
- Whisk the ingredients for the crust in the order in which I listed them, and bake in the oven at 180 degrees for about 30 minutes.
- For the sauce, whisk the egg whites with the sugar, add the lemon and pour over the half-baked cake, then return to the oven and reduce the temperature to about 150 degrees, so that the sauce dries nicely and is crispy and ruddy as in the picture. Drying takes another 10-15 minutes, depending on the oven.
