Rice with pomegranate syrup

I haven't put on a Kurdish recipe for a long time. This is my favorite rice that kids just adore. It's fantastic with chicken, and it can also be served as a main course with a salad.

Preparation steps

  • Fry the finely chopped onion for about ten minutes until golden brown (it is very important that the onion is well fried, as this gives the rice a specific taste).
  • While the onion is frying, wash the rice well and leave it in the water until the onion is fried.
  • When the onion is fried add the pomegranate syrup and mix. Then add salt and water and when it starts to cook add the drained rice.
  • Mix everything well, bury and when it starts to cook reduce to medium heat. When you see that the water is gone, stir reduce to the lowest temperature and cook for 20 minutes. After ten minutes of cooking, mix the rice.
