Rice a la Malta
This dessert is served in Sweden mainly for Christmas, but because of the simplicity of the preparation and because I am not Swedish, I make it more often. It is served with flavored oranges or cherry sauce and is very refreshing and rich in flavor.
Preparation steps
- Cook the rice in milk, classically and let it cool and harden well. If you have the option to buy ready-made, this is ideal.
- Stir in whipped cream and vanilla sugar.
- Cut the orange into slices, sprinkle with brown sugar, pour a little water and add anise and cinnamon. Allow all the water to evaporate and when the oranges become caramelized, remove from the heat and allow to cool.
Serving
Arrange the dessert in glasses, with oranges or cherries and the dessert is ready.
