Rastika with dried meat

Raštika (rašćika) is a type of cabbage that grows mainly in Dalmatia. It is mostly prepared with dried pork or kaštradina (dried sheep or goat meat).

Preparation steps

  • The raštika is harvested and cut into narrower strips. During this time, the dried meat is put to boil with the addition of soup. In plenty of boiling water, the raštika is boiled briefly and then drained well.
  • The soup is strained and boiled potatoes are put into it, which are boiled almost to the end. Then a skewer is put in them.
  • The bacon is cut into small cubes and melted in a pan like greaves. It is poured over the skewers and boiled briefly.

Serving
