Quasimodo donuts

Fast, easy and cheap! They are not beautiful, but stunning and above all good just like Quasimodo. Here we are entering the carnival time and a real occasion for donuts that are made from pancake batter, baked in a muffin tin, with an effective look and great taste. They are prepared for 15 minutes and baked for about thirty minutes.

Preparation steps

  • Sift flour, add lukewarm milk, scrambled eggs, salt and vanilla sugar, using a whisk or mixer to make as a dough for pancakes. Finally add the melted fat. Coat the indentations in the muffin tin (if you don't have any, you will use paper muffin baskets) with an oiled finger and fill each indentation halfway with liquid dough. Bake in an oven preheated to 200 'C for 30-40 minutes. Sprinkle hot donuts with powdered sugar.

Serving

Serve them with compote or coat with your favorite jam or Nutella. You can top cold donuts with whipped cream or hot pudding. Practical advice: For those who prefer salt, 50 g of grated cheese and spices can be mixed into the dough (omit sugar). You can also make 6 donuts sweet and 6 salty. Note if you make sweet donuts they swell up and look like an armchair, the salty ones rise a bit and stay nice shapes. This quantity corresponds to 12 donuts. Their taste is unusual, it is not like a donut, or a fritula, or a pancake, or an omelet, or a biscuit ... but very nice. Who likes sweeter can add sugar as desired, I applied only 2 tbsp in the recipe. because afterwards I spread them with jam and sprinkle with sugar.
