Quarkkuchen
The recipe is original German. The cake will surely be loved by everyone. It is not required to do and there is plenty of it. I bought fresh cheese in Svecka (kesella, naturell), here in Norway it is (kesam, naturell).
Preparation steps
- Whisk the softened butter with the sugar, add the other ingredients. Make the dough with your hands. Leave the dough in the fridge for 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough to the size of a deeper mold with a removable ring (24 cm), if you do not have a deeper mold then 26 cm. Line the mold with baking paper. Coat the bottom and sides of the mold with dough.
- For the filling, mix the cheese, flour and sugar, add the egg yolks, melted butter and combine everything nicely into a lump-free mixture. Finally, lightly add the solid egg whites.
- Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 60 minutes (check after about 50 minutes, because the ovens are not the same). When the cake is baked, it will swell, but you don't have to worry about that, because when it cools down, it will be as it should be.
- Cool the cake to room temperature and then leave in the fridge overnight.
- Tip: you can cut the stake into smaller pieces. I cut it in the evening because there weren't many of us and at the same time everyone got two pieces. Because there were those who were big fans of cheesecakes. One piece was enough for me because after that you will feel full.
Serving
Before serving, sprinkle the cake with powdered sugar scented with vanilla sugar. Serve in fresh fruit or fruit sauce
