Puff pastry rolls with Russian salad
I made them as an appetizer for a New Year’s party! They are phenomenal!
Preparation steps
- Boil vegetables for Russian salad in a little salted water. Mix cooked vegetables, finely chopped ham and pickles with mayonnaise and sour cream. Season to taste.
- Roll out the puff pastry to a thickness of approx. 5 mm. Cut into 1cm wide strips (I used a pizza cutter - the ideal solution). Wrap strips of puff pastry around sticks, coat with egg yolk and bake until golden brown.
- Cut the rolls into shorter pieces while they are still warm. When the rolls have cooled, fill them with Russian salad.
Serving
I used reeds as sticks that I got from Nana's friend a long time ago and they are great. I think a cane can be easily found and make sticks like this.
