Provasan onion cake
A French dish from Provence, for those who like spicy flavors, anchovies and olives and consume it all with good company and a glass of wine, this is the right recipe.
Preparation steps
- Knead the dough from yeast, flour, a teaspoon of sugar and about 150 ml of water. Cover it and leave it to rise in the heat until its volume doubles. Peel an onion and chop it finely. It is best to grate it on a cabbage grater. Saute the onion in hot olive oil, add a little sugar and salt and pepper. Roll out the dough on a baking sheet (oiled or covered with baking paper) and leave to rise for another 20 minutes. Preheat the oven to 200 C. Distribute the onion over the dough, sprinkle with grated cheese and thyme (thyme) and arrange the anchovies and olives on it. Bake for 20-30 minutes.
