Princess donuts
While you were home last time, you asked me if I remembered those blue boxes and how we made princes, of course I remember. We were small, in fact you were small, and I was always a big, older sister. We loved working and eating “instant” princesses, in fact I made them, you assisted and tasted them. We are adults now, and you are a big (adult), far from our home, you have your home, your family, and we still love princesses, only I don't make them "out of the box" anymore, I make them like this and I'm writing this recipe to make it you can always look and remember our childhood and our home.
Preparation steps
- Boiled dough: Put water in a bowl to boil, add margarine (or fat) and let it boil for 3 minutes.
- Add flour to the water and mix, cook for about a minute until the dough starts to separate from the pan. Cool, but not completely. Add the egg one by one in the lukewarm and mix. Finally add 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder to the mixture.
- Fill a decorating syringe with the mixture and squeeze small walnut-sized pussies onto a baking sheet lined with baking paper. You can also do this with an ordinary small spoon. I usually make 20 pussies from this mixture.
- Preheat the oven to 175 degrees and put the princess in the hot oven, bake for about 30 minutes and during that time never open the oven. When they are baked leave the princesses to cool well.
- Cream: From 0.5 l of milk separate 1 dcl in which you mix egg, thickener, sugar and vanilla sugar, and add this mixture to boiling milk, stirring constantly to obtain a thick smooth mass. Cool, be careful not to make a crust, so it is best to cover the warm cream with a transparent foil. In a lukewarm froth, mix butter or margarine cut into strips.
- Cut the princess, fill it with well-chilled cream, decorate with whipped cream, grated or melted chocolate, sprinkle with powdered sugar, whatever you like :)
Serving
Serve chilled and enjoy with a cup of coffee or tea in good company :)
