Poppy seed cherry pie
I had homemade cherry juice at home, which my mom made for me, and since she is a big fan of poppies - my imagination worked and this delicious pie was created ... .... for my mom ... :)
Preparation steps
- Dough: Combine all ingredients and knead a crispy dough and divide into three parts. Leave in the refrigerator to stand for 30 minutes. If you are working with the help of a mixer, then first whisk the butter and sugar, and lightly add flour and wine, and lemon zest.
- Poppy seed filling: Mix poppy seeds, sugar, lemon juice and spices, and add boiled wine to this mixture. A slightly liquid mixture will be obtained, which will thicken on cooling.
- Cherry filling: Drain the cherries, and bring the juice to a boil, when it boils add the density and stir constantly until a thick mixture is obtained. Remove from the heat and stir in the cherries and add the spices.
- Roll out 1/3 of the dough in the form of protvanja, pierce the dough and put in the oven for 1o-15 min at 200C. Place the poppy seed filling on half-baked and cover with 2/3 of the dough (pierce with a fork) and bake for 10-15 minutes until it gets a light color. Then put the cherry filling and cover with the remaining dough. Bake for 10 minutes until it gets colored. When cool sprinkle with powdered sugar mixed with vanilla sugar.
Serving
Who can't resist it's deliciously warm, but it's even better when it stays overnight ....;)
