Plum jam with rum and cinnamon

Of the many similar recipes, I singled out this one which is fantastic for me! I made it last year and it was for ‘finger licking’ :)

Preparation steps

  • Wash the plums, drain and remove the stones. Put a row of plums, a row of sugar in the bowl in which you will cook the jam. Cook everything over low heat, stirring occasionally. When the mixture is already quite thick, add lemon, cloves and cinnamon. Add rum at the end. Cook until the mixture becomes thick and dark. Cooking time approx. 4-5 hours! Stir constantly !!
  • Preparation of jars: Put clean jars (and lids) in boiling water and boil them for about 10 minutes. In this way the jars are sterilized. When they have boiled, transfer them to a (preheated) oven to dry at 50C.
  • Pour the hot jam into warm jars and leave everything in the oven to cool slightly.
