Berries are an Istrian dish, maneštra with corn, beans, potatoes and prosciutto bones. I love this dish because the smell takes me back to my childhood, in Nona's kitchen :)

From finely chopped bacon or bacon with the addition of parsley, garlic, you get a spread (pesto or minced meat) that can be spread or added to various soup dishes (maneštra) of beans or sauerkraut.
