Peasant spice sauce
I grew up in a small town and spent my childhood mostly on meadows and farms. There is nothing more beautiful even today than the occasional real peasant lunch - beef soup and then cooked meat, potatoes and a good old spice sauce ... who can resist it.
Preparation steps
- Melt the fat in the pan and add the flour. Fry until it changes color to golden but it must not burn.
- Remove from the stove and add salt and freshly chopped spice. Return to the stove and slowly add water or soup, stirring constantly, until the desired density is obtained.
- When the sauce is ready, add a teaspoon of vinegar and sugar, and the sauce is ready to serve.
Serving
This old-fashioned sauce is usually served with cooked meat from soup (rinfleish) and boiled potatoes topped with butter. Pleasant!
