Onion soup
The hearty onion soup is a symbol of refined French cuisine, so we believe you will like it too. For the full variant of the "French connection", serve the toast with melted cheese along with the soup. A little secret: add a little sugar when sautéing onions.
Preparation steps
- Fry the onion in butter over low heat for about ten minutes. Sprinkle with sugar and continue to simmer until softened.
- Add flour, thyme, pepper and pour water. Add the beef cubes and cook all together for 15 minutes.
- Pour in the wine and boil briefly.
Serving
Fry the toast, put cheese on it, heat to melt and serve with hot soup sprinkled with chopped parsley.
Advice
You can pour the soup into small bowls, put toast with cheese on it, and put it all together in a well-heated oven at the highest temperature, so that the cheese melts.
