Obstplunder

I don't know how to translate this name into Croatian, there is simply no translation. Mostly something fruity :) I think that there is not a single bakery in Germany that bakes breads and cakes that does not offer Obstplunder, I present it to you in my home production. In any case, a quick, easy and cheap dessert. Puff pastry is often found in the fridge, abandoned by many housewives, and some bags of ready-made cream that only need to be mixed with milk and some fruit, but if there is not enough fruit, you can add something dry, candied or canned. Eeeeee let's get to the recipe now ... :)

Preparation steps

  • Divide the puff pastry into cubes. I got 6 cubes from one crust. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Coat the corners of each cube with a little water and bend the corners inwards (shape as in the picture) and press each corner a little to stick.
  • Arrange on a baking sheet lined with paper and bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven when baked and allow to cool. Meanwhile, prepare the fruit (if you use bananas, be sure to bury them well with lemon juice so that they do not turn black). Whisk the cream, I used dr.oetker vanilla cream pudding which is whipped with 250 ml of milk, and I intentionally whipped with 230 ml of milk to make it firmer. It is very important that the cream is firm. You can also make the cream yourself just like the one for princess donuts or similar or use such a cream if you have any left. Also to prepare the cake topping according to the instructions from the bag, one bag that is made with 250 ml of water for 12 Obstplunders was enough for me.
  • Now lightly press each piece of puff pastry with two fingers in the middle to make a small indentation as they swell during baking. Put a little 1-2 tablespoons of cream on each. Arrange the fruit over the cream. over the fruit, pour 1-2 spoons of cake topping over each plunder (the cake topping should stand for a little 1-2 minutes before you put it over the fruit, so it will spill less).
  • After 15-20 minutes when the topping has set you can enjoy the Obstplunder.
