Nettle dumplings
Whether salty or sweet, štruklji are a favorite dish of many of us. Add boiled and chopped nettle to the classic cheese and cream filling and enjoy another new taste of Zagorje specialty.
Preparation steps
- Add a little salt, 2 tablespoons of oil and warm water to the flour, and knead a smooth soft dough.
- Divide the dough into two parts, coat with the remaining oil and let stand for about 30 minutes covered.
- Sprinkle the tablecloth with flour, place the dough and roll it out a bit with a rolling pin. With oiled hands, pull the dough from the middle towards the end until it becomes transparent.
- For the filling, cheese, cream, eggs, salt and blanched, well drained and finely chopped nettle mix well.
- Arrange half of the filling to half of the dough and fold with a tablecloth. Repeat the same process with the other part of the dough.
- Cut the strudels with a plate and cook them in boiling salted water for about 5 minutes.
- Take out the cooked strudels, arrange them in a fireproof mold and pour over the sweet cream. Bake in an oven preheated to 210 ° C for about 30 minutes until golden yellow.
Serving
Serve the baked strudels hot.

You can pour sweet cream over the prepared strudels and bake them in the oven without pre-cooking.
