Natural cough syrup
An excellent combination of medicinal plants with the addition of honey. It proved to be very effective with us!
Preparation steps
- In a liter of water add the grated ginger root and boil the tea over low heat until it boils to about half a liter.
- Cool the resulting tea briefly (just a few minutes is enough so that it is not hot) and then pour it into another bowl to which you have added chamomile tea, marshmallow and a teaspoon of cinnamon.
- Cover and leave until the tea is a little warm, then sit all together squeezing the spoonful of herbs to get as much "mucus" from the marshmallow (if you have ever made tea from marshmallow root then you know that when you squeeze tea the root releases a transparent mucus that is the most healing-bronchial coating and helps with expectoration).
- Add a small jar of honey and squeezed lemon juice to the warm tea (if it is very juicy, one lemon is enough, otherwise use two).
- Mix everything together, shake in a larger glass bottle and store in the refrigerator for a maximum of 2 months.
- Adults take 1 tablespoon as needed, and children (over 1 year) take 1 teaspoon as needed.
