... with caramelized onions
Preparation steps
- Soak dried cranberries in water. The pistachios will be chopped. Cut the onion into thin ribs and fry over a moderate heat, stirring occasionally, for about 40 minutes, to caramelize well. Meanwhile, season it with salt and pepper.
- Cook the cleaned and washed lentils with the cut onion and lorber for about 40 minutes, over a moderate heat, taking care not to overcook.
- Fry cumin and turmeric briefly in heated oil, just to smell, add washed and drained rice, mix it well in seasoned oil, coat each grain with fat, pour water and cook for about 10 minutes. Remove from the heat, cover and leave for 5 minutes to absorb any remaining liquid.
- Spread the finished rice with a fork, mix in the drained lentils, without onions and lorber, combine and adjust to taste. Drain the cranberries.
Serving
Serve sprinkled with caramelized onions, cranberries, pistachios and chopped parsley.
