Mini Ferdinand donuts

Beautiful pastries with cinnamon. I prefer to make smaller buns, like wasp nests although in the original the rolls should be large. The whole mixture should be rolled out into a strip 10 cm wide and 1 cm thick, coated, folded lengthwise and cut into 4 equal parts (2.5 cm thick).

Preparation steps

  • Stir the yeast in the milk with a little sugar. When it rises, knead the dough and roll it out to 1cm thick. If you want to work by the rules, adjust the dimensions to those in the recipe introduction. I rolled out the dough into a strip about 20 cm wide and got more smaller roses.
  • Coat the dough with a creamy mixture of sugar and semi-melted butter and sprinkle generously with cinnamon. Bend and cut into 2.5 cm long rollers.
  • Arrange the slices in a baking tin and let rise. Bake at 180 ° C. Towards the end of baking, pour a mixture of milk and vanilla sugar and bake until done.
