Melon jam-extra
extra because there are some little extra ingredients !!
Preparation steps
- I did double the amount, so I put three small to medium homemade apples and one 2: 1 jamfix and one bag of jelly ..
- mix the melon into the porridge, then add the peeled apple, mix everything finely ..
- in a saucepan, stir the sugar on low heat to dissolve and turn a little yellow (it should not darken) .. pour the fruit and grated lemon zest on it, set aside. let it stand for 3-4 hours / or overnight .. during this time all the sugar will dissolve (which has hardened in contact with the fruit puree) ..
- cook the porridge on low heat for about 10 minutes to dissolve any remaining sugar, stirring occasionally.
- add maraschino and lemon juice, stir
- increase the heat and stir in the gelling agent, cook for 2-3 minutes and pour into clean, heated jars .. close them and turn for 5-10 minutes on the stopper.
- return the jars to an upright position, after a while the caps will retract with a small sound - "click", they are now well closed with vacuum and you will hear the same click as you struggle to open them !! leave to cool ..
- store in a cooler, darker place;)
