Meat donuts

They are also called "Chinese snicles" or "meatballs". I have been making meat donuts according to this recipe for years. This is a really economical recipe because from 1/2 kg of meat, 3 eggs and a few other ingredients you get a lot of "donuts". They are convenient for various celebrations, and also to take to work. I used to put plain flour but after switching to LCHF I started using other allowed flours.

Preparation steps

  • Put 3 eggs, 3 tablespoons of olive oil, finely chopped onion and garlic, baking powder, flour, 1 teaspoon of small red pepper and spices to taste in a bowl. Mix well. Add minced meat, 100 ml of lukewarm water and parsley leaves. Mix everything together well. Leave in the cold for at least 1/2 hour.
  • Heat the fat in a pan, take out the mixture with a spoon and fry the donuts on both sides. Place the fried meat donuts on kitchen paper to soak up the excess fat.

Serving

* For the LCHF version, I use defatted real flour instead of regular flour. I usually use peanut flour, almond, sesame / sesame, flaxseed .... Sometimes I put only one type, and I also know how to mix flour and since those flours have more absorption power, I put 4 tablespoons. One tablespoon of pumpkin / pumpkin flour could be added to this mix.
