Bake at 180C for about 1 hour.

Preparation steps

  • Mix the yeast with the milk and sugar to rise. Put the rest of the ingredients in a mixing bowl except the flour. Add the yeast and finally slowly add the flour. Make the dough well. While rising, mix twice to make the dough light.
  • Poppy seeds or walnuts, sugar, vanilla sugar, lemon zest mix and sprinkle with boiling milk. Add rum and mixed egg whites. Divide the dough into two parts, roll out and coat with the filling. Leave to rise to double size. Bake in a preheated oven. If the stake burns suddenly, cover it with aluminum foil or greaseproof paper.
  • When done, cover it with a clean cloth to cool. Finally sprinkle with powdered sugar.
