Mak cake
On Saturday, our dear friends come to us for dinner and a cup of conversation, since my friend's birthday is on Sunday, I decided to surprise her with a cake. The author of the recipe is CrNiPeTaK from the Serbian Cafe discussion
Preparation steps
- Whisk first for one crust, I have two cake tins, 26 cm in diameter and while I whip one I bake the other.
- Preheat the oven to 170 * C, grease the cake pan and put baking paper on the bottom.
- Separate the egg whites from the egg yolks and set the egg yolks aside, we need them for the filling.
- Whisk the egg whites into a stiff batter, when you turn the bowl upside down so that they do not slip out, then they are well beaten and set aside.
- Whisk 160 g of butter with 150 g of sugar to be creamy, add 100 g of ground poppy seeds, previously soaked in 200 ml of lukewarm milk, add flour mixed with baking powder, whisk everything together, finally add egg whites and slowly mix them into mixture with poppy seeds. Bake for about 35 minutes, depending on your oven, make sure it is baked with a toothpick that you stick in the middle of the crust, if it comes out clean, the crust is baked. It cools completely.
- Bake another crust in exactly the same way.
- File:
- Whisk first the softened butter with the sugar and set aside.
- Put 600 ml of milk in a bowl to cook, during that time whisk 10 egg yolks with 6 tablespoons of flour and add about 50 ml of cold milk to the mixture, boil in boiled milk, stirring constantly with a wire. When cool, grate the orange peel and add 2-3 teaspoons of orange juice. Combine with butter by adding spoon by spoon of filling to the butter and mix well each time with a mixer so that you do not have lumps, these two mixtures must be at the same temperature, otherwise you will have lumps in the filling.
- When the peels have cooled well, cut them in half and you will get 4 peels, coat each peel with orange juice and fill in this order peel + filling + peel + filling + peel + filling + peel, starting with the peel and ending with the peel.
- The recipe says to pour chocolate glaze and the recipe is as follows:
- Melt the chocolate chips at a low temperature with 3 teaspoons of milk and a teaspoon of butter.
Serving
This cake can actually be made as a cake, all the ingredients are cut in half and only one crust is made, cut it in half and fill with the filling. Bark + filling + crust and pour over the chocolate glaze. I changed the original recipe a bit and added something.
