Macedonian makalo with gravy and dried peppers
This is another Macedonian makalo that is delicious and has always been made in my Macedonia where beans are prepared in even I don't know how many ways. .I don't know if you remember my recipe ,, white peas with pepper ,, that with green peppers that is made in summer, e this is similar only made in winter when there are dried peppers from below.
Preparation steps
- Peel and chop two garlic cloves and add salt.
- We take a pestle and beat the onion and salt.
- We cook the beans together with dried peppers and onions. When it is cooked, we take out the peppers and add them to the beaten onion.
- Beat the cooked dried peppers nicely with a pestle.
- Strain the beans so that there is no water in them and add them to the crushed peppers.
- We beat the beans as in the picture, I like when you know the beans, and remove the paprika husks with a spoon nicely with them and throw them away so that they don't bother you and make the macala look better.
- Well this is a step I love to do. Put the oil in some cap to warm up and when it starts to smell then simmer it in the beans and then stir.
- Stir quickly while the oil is hot to combine with the beans.
Serving
I make this makalo on Friday when it is fasting and it goes best with some fish.
