Lenses in a simple way
This is one very simple and quick way to prepare lentils. It's not very classic as it is done in Dalmatia, that's why I decided to put it on ... in any case, I hope you like it;)
Preparation steps
- An hour or two before cooking, soak the washed lentils in water to swell a little.
- Finely chop the onion, carrot, garlic, parsley, and diced potatoes.
- Put the drained lentils and all the other ingredients in the pot. Pour enough water to cover it all and now salt, pepper, add a little and finally 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil.
- Cook over medium heat for about 30-35 minutes (depending on the lentils). When done, make a paste: add flour and a teaspoon of sweet red pepper to a little heated oil. As soon as the spray is done, add it to the finished lentils and cook for a few more minutes. If necessary, you can, if it is too thick, add a little water.
- In delight!
Serving
In a classic Dalmatian lentil, the powder never goes, but the grated potatoes or a part of the cooked lentils is propagated and returned to the pot with the lentils. We didn’t like either of these ways so we adapted to ourselves like this. I hope you like it too, it’s creamier like this.
