Layered-baked cake (German Baumkuchen)
Something really nice, baked in layers, it even looks like the crusts are coated with jam, but the look is often deceiving ..
Preparation steps
- Mix the butter lightly and gradually add the sugar, vanilla sugar, 2 whole eggs, 4 egg yolks and rum.
- Mix the flour with the density and baking powder, sift everything and add a spoonful to the mixture with the eggs. Add 4 beaten egg whites.
- Place foil or baking paper on a deep greased baking tray, pour 1-2 tablespoons of the mixture, spread thinly and bake under a salamander at 200 ° (grill - the distance between the heater and the mixture must be 20 cm).
- Bake a layer of the mixture until it becomes light brown in color.
- For the second layer, spread 1-2 tablespoons of the mixture on the baked layer again and bake in the same way.
- Carefully separate the finished and baked cake from the foil / baking paper and take it out, remove the foil and return it to the oven for 5 minutes.
- For the glaze, melt the steamed chocolate with butter, coat the cooled cake.
Serving
I used a 35 X 15 tray, although I think it was better to take a 25X10 tray.
