Lambs Kleftiko
Lamb Kleftiko is a national dish of Greek cuisine, and I took this recipe in a restaurant from the island of Zakynthos. I can only say that this dish awakened all my senses and amazed me with its taste. Try it!
Preparation steps
- First, salt and pepper the lamb, and sauté it. Then boil the carrot (chopped into pieces 3 cm long and max. One cm wide), peas and peppers chopped into rings. Cut the potatoes into quarters or halves and bake them in the oven like a bakery. Cut the red onion into semicircles. Crush the tomato and take it with the feta.
- Take a ceramic or other dish, put enough aluminum foil in it to cover the inside and enough outside to wrap the dish completely in the foil when baking. When you do that, put all the mixed ingredients (except tomatoes and feta), salt and pepper on the bottom of the foil (bowl), and pour tomato sauce over them. On top of that, sprinkle with crushed tomatoes and feta and a pinch of oregano.
- Wrap the foil so that all the ingredients can be cooked without steaming and bake for 15 minutes at 220 degrees.
Serving
Unwrap, remove from the pan and serve in foil on a plate, as shown in the picture.
