Korvapuustit - Finnish cinnamon pastry
Cinnamon rolls in the Finnish way with the aroma of cardamom in the dough. With coffee or hot cocoa.
Preparation steps
- Stir the yeast in warm milk. Add sugar and pour in the sifted flour. Whisk the egg and add about 2/3 to the dough, and leave the rest to coat. Stir in the cardamom and finally soften the butter. Leave it to rise in the heat.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 0.5 cm thick, coat with melted butter and sprinkle with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon. Wrap the dough as a roll, cut into triangles and press each triangle in the middle with the handle of a food processor.
- Coat with the rest of the egg (some use only water), sprinkle with coarse sugar and bake at 220 degrees for 10-15 minutes.
Serving
My advice is to use only butter and not maragrin for these pastries, because you will not get that fine milky aroma of pastries.
