Kasato

For over 30 years, the New Year has been celebrated in our house with kasato ... We haven't changed the recipe for decades, and kasato is a cake with two faces, like a roll and a ball ...

Preparation steps

  • By choosing fasting foods, it is possible to make kasato in the fasting variant.
  • It is necessary to froth the margarine and sugar, then add the grated orange peel and half the juice, rum and chopped walnuts and jelly. If desired, dried fruit can be added, but for us this is an ideal combination. I want to choose it in four colors (yellow, orange, red and green) for decoration.
  • Finally, add the ground biscuits, and mix everything well by hand. If the mixture is too dry, very little warm water or more orange juice can be added. The mixture is divided into two parts, and a spatula is made as wide as between the thumb and forefinger, and balls are formed from the other half, and everything is covered with chocolate glaze.
  • For the glaze, melt one cooking chocolate on a medium heat, with 3 tablespoons of milk and 3 tablespoons of oil. The frame cools down, but it is still half-light, pour over the roll and pour half a teaspoon into the balls ...
