I can seem to squint to make it, I’ve made it so many times. The recipe was given to me by my colleague Zlata. All the recipes obtained from her remain on my menu forever.
Preparation steps
- Put baking paper in a bowl / 20x40cm / greased, and spread the walnuts evenly over the paper.
- Save the crust. Whisk the egg whites well with the sugar, add the pretzels, cocoa, and jam. Pour the well-balanced mixture over the prepared walnuts. Bake the crust at 200 degrees for 15 minutes.
- When the crust is baked, turn it over so that the nuts are on top and lightly remove the baking paper. Leave to cool, and during that time make a filling.
- Whisk the egg yolks with the sugar, then add the flour spoon by spoon. Pour this mixture into 1/2 liter of steamed milk with added vanilla sugar. Stir in the steamer with a mixer for about 10 minutes, so that everything thickens. Remove from the heat, add the diced butter and continue to stir with a mixer until the filling and butter are combined. Finally add the rum and combine it.
- When the filling has cooled, spread it over the crust. Put the cake in the fridge to cool well.
- Decorate it with whipped cream.
