Jelena's chocolate cake
I got the recipe from my friend Jelena and that's why I named the cake after her. The cake is very easy to make, not very sweet and does not require a lot of time to prepare the filling.
Preparation steps
- Whisk the egg whites with 6 tablespoons of sugar into a stiff batter. Then whisk the egg yolks with 6 tablespoons of sugar, add milk and stir a little with a mixer. Then add sifted flour with baking powder and cocoa and finally combine it with the egg whites.
- Bake the cake in a cake tin (I used 26) at 180 degrees ca. 30 minutes.
- When the crust is baked, cut it into two parts and leave it to cool. The same procedure is with the second bark. When it is baked, it is also cut. Meanwhile, while the crusts are baking, prepare the filling.
- Heat the milk and melt the margarine, sugar and chocolate in it. When it melts add the ground walnuts. Allow to cool slightly and divide into 4 bowls of the same size.
- Put the crust in the cake mold and pour it with one part of the filling, put the other crust and pour the filling again. Do the same with the third and fourth crust.
- Leave in the fridge for a couple of hours to cool well. When it is well cooled, it can be decorated as you wish. I used vanilla whipped cream.
