Jaundice after heavy
One of the best wild plants, a young sister of asparagus, bitter and very healthy. For the dinner of a hard worker in old Split, my grandmother used to prepare cocoa. So here is a simple old-fashioned recipe, not to be forgotten.
Preparation steps
- Cut the lower part of the egg yolks to separate the leaves. Soak in plenty of cold water and let it stand. Separate the peppers (green leaves from the hood), chop them finely, and put them together with the egg yolk in water. Separate the fennel lysors from the thick pellets with an energetic movement. Peel the potatoes, wash them and cut them into cubes. Put the eggs to boil hard. Heat a liter of water in a pot, add salt. Add sliced potatoes and cook for 5 minutes. After five minutes, add zurtinica, hood peppers and fennel. Cook for 15 minutes until everything softens. When it is done, drain the vegetables, save the water from cooking. Press the potatoes with a fork to chop and gradually add water and olive oil. I like when there is enough liquid and you judge for yourself. Add finely chopped garlic. Peel and chop the eggs and add them to the greens. Add salt and steam generously.
Serving
Enjoy with a lot of bread so you can supat. Add a little more oil and mash.
