How to paint fondant with metallic paint

Instructions for painting fondant with metallic paint to paint evenly.

Preparation steps

  • To get a fine even metallic color if you do not have an air brush, you can use edible powder paint but dissolve it in edible glaze (leaf glaze) instead of alcohol. the advantage of this is that the paint does not come off when it dries if you touch it with your hand, and that it can be applied much more evenly. Dissolve the paint in edible glaze, and apply it with a brush in two coats, the second coat when the first has dried. Clean the brush with isopropyl alcohol or edible glaze cleaner, never water because edible glaze hardens in contact with water and then it is very difficult to remove.
