Honolulu salad
In Hawaiian honolulu it means “sheltered bay,” and since a Hawaiian party is best organized in the summer, sheltered bay is not a requirement, but watermelon, melon, and mango cubes in pineapple certainly are. Serve to the light beats of Hawaiian music and simply enjoy.
Preparation steps
- Cut the fruit into cubes, pour over the cooled syrup and stir.
- For sugar syrup:
- Bring the sugar, vanilla sugar and water to a boil, then add the sliced orange and cook for about 5 minutes.
Serving
Serve the fruit salad in appropriate colorful bowls, hollowed out watermelon, melon or pineapple sprinkled with mint leaves or banana chips.
Advice
If using pineapple, cut the meat into cubes and mix with the remaining fruit.
